As a lifelong Democrat, Rosalind Caesar has dedicated her life to fighting for the rights of all Texans. Now, she is running to be your next Texas State Representative for District 139. Rosalind is a tireless advocate for progressive values and has a proven track record of getting things done. She has worked tirelessly to improve access to healthcare, protect women's reproductive rights, clean and affordable wate,  and fight for criminal justice reform. As your State Representative, she will continue to fight for these issues and many more.

Rosalind was born in Tulsa, OK, and has spent the last 20 years as a Houstonian. She is a graduate of the historic HBCU, Huston Tillotson University, with a degree in Criminal Justice. As a current MUD Board Director, Rosalind has already demonstrated her commitment to serving her community. Her experience working with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and as an adjunct professor has given her a deep understanding of the issues facing our state and the skills necessary to tackle them head-on. As a former Democratic Party Precinct Chair, she has worked with several campaigns, such as Representative Jarvis Johnson, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Commissioner Rodney Ellis, Mike Collier, and Sheriff Ed Gonzales, to name a few. Rosalind has also lobbied, added language to, and championed several bills in Austin with then-Senator John Whitmire, Rep. Penny Shaw, Rep. Jarvis Johnson, and others. Rosalind is also an active member of the Spiritual Advisory Committee of the Texas Coalition of Black Democrats.

She knows that access to quality healthcare, affordable housing, and good jobs are essential to building a thriving community. Her commitment to protecting a woman’s right to choose, improving the ability for Texans to gain healthcare, making Houston the safest city in the state and providing economic and educational support for families in her district are the reasons why Rosalind needs to be in Austin to represent District 139.

Rosalind is not just a leader but a wife and mother who understands the challenges facing families in our district. She is also a member of the Lighthouse Church, where she has built strong relationships and has a deep understanding of the needs of our community. Her passion for serving others is truly inspiring, and we are lucky to have someone like Rosalind fighting for us.
